Lifeline
Lifeline is an original oil painting on wood of 32 x 27,5 cm and is painted in the Old Master’s technique. SOLD
It is a small panel inspired by the work of Alma Tadema, a 19th century romantic painter. This work follows a theme that I have visited before, namely that of combining perspective with time to suggest depth of history as well as space. The symbolism of the thread leading to the centre is taken from the Greek myth of Ariadne, a theme with many symbolic overtones.
