ORIGINAL PAINTING
This work explores the narrative of the Fallen Angels and their relationship to technology and the Ego, as it is found in the Book of Enoch. It carries the theme of the original sin, of hubris and its consequences. It is also a call to remember and be true to your inner nature. To be content with what you are and what you have been given.

This is a painting based upon the stories found in the Book of Enoch where the fall of the angels is narrated. This book documents the events that led to the rise of civilisation in the lands of Sumer, and the cause of the Great Flood. The leader of the Fallen Angels is named as Shamziah. It was the Fallen Angels who brought civilisation to Sumer, against the will of the highest Angelic power, the Anu. The Book of Enoch describes the Angels as both scientists, civilisers and divine beings all in one, in a layered historical narrative coloured by myth, religion and mistranslation. It is one of the key texts that reveals the strange origins of civilisation in the Near East, origins that lie at the root of our modern technological societies.
This is the second painting in a series about the fall of the angels, the first being "The Fallen"
