Collector's Lease

Live with original art.
Build a balance to make it yours.

The Collector's Lease gives you a different way to collect an original painting by Jake Baddeley.

Choose an available original and live with it in your home or workplace. Each month, part of your payment covers the lease of the artwork. The other part is added to your Collector Balance.

Your Collector Balance is not tied to the painting on your wall. It stays with you and can be used towards the purchase of any available original artwork.

The principle

How it works

1. Choose an artwork

Choose an available original painting that you would like to live with.

2. Lease and build your balance

Each month, you pay a lease fee of 1% of the value of the artwork. This is the cost of leasing the painting and is non-refundable.

You also add an amount to your Collector Balance. The amount depends on the level you choose and will stay with you to purchase a painting of your choosing after or during the lease.

Choose your level

Three levels. One flexible balance.

Enthusiast

12 months
2.5% of the artwork value per month

Lease fee 1%

Collector Balance 1.5%

A first step into collecting original art.

Collector

24 months
3% of the artwork value per month

Lease fee 1%

Collector Balance 2%

Builds your Collector Balance faster and gives you a longer period with the work.

Patron

36 months
3.5% of the artwork value per month

Lease fee 1%

Collector Balance 2.5%

The highest monthly contribution to your Collector Balance, for collectors who want to make a stronger commitment to building their collection.

The important difference

Your balance follows you,
not the painting.

The balance you build does not have to be used to buy the painting you are leasing. Once the applicable lease period has been completed, you can use your Collector Balance towards any available original artwork.

For example, you can build a balance while living with one painting and later decide that another painting is right for you. If that artwork costs less, your existing balance covers a larger part of its price. If your balance is enough to cover the full price, you can use it to purchase the artwork.

When you move to another painting under the lease, your existing Collector Balance stays with you. Your future monthly lease fee and balance contribution are then calculated from the value of the new painting.

Your balance follows you, not the artwork.

The Collector Balance can be used toward the purchase of any available original artwork. If you move to another painting, future monthly amounts are calculated from the value of that painting. Your existing Collector Balance remains available to you.
