The Mystos was traditionally the guide of the potential initiate in the mystery tradition of ancient Greece known as the Eleusinian mysterie.
This subject matter appeals to me because of the archetypal themes that have many connections with my work.
This can be seen as portrait of an initiate, a Mystes, in the process of realizing who she is beyond the Mask. She may be fundamentally changed through an initiation like those of the Eleusinian Mysteries which revealed sacred knowledge of her essential divine nature.
