Fire represents activity, action, light and power. It is an expansive outgoing energy creating change around itself.
Fire was allocated the direction of North and located at the highest point on the Tree of Becoming. Plato, as well as those before him, ascribed to this element the tetrahedron, the simplest 3-dimensional form that can be made from triangles.
The triangle, when pointing up, indicates the energy of the flame and is traditionally used to represent fire in the alchemic tradition.
