Air
Air represents change, fluidity and transformation. Air was allocated the direction of East and its colour is yellow often associated with the Spring, the beginning of the year, freshness and youth. The Sumerians, who are the oldest culture we know of to use this system, named their god Enlil to be the god of the Air. Here, in keeping with the theme of these works, it is represented as a young girl.
Here another form of the triangle, when expanded into three dimensions, creates the octahedron which is traditionally associated with the element air. Alchemically, air is symbolized by an upward pointing triangle with a line through the middle.
