It has taken some time, but finally here's my first e-mail news letter! The idea is to keep you up-to-date with the latest on my work, projects, up-coming exhibitions and other things that are on my mind. I hope you enjoy it!

Recently I have been interested in the theme "Archetypes". What are they? Do they really exist?
I made my own short list, for myself the most important themes. I narrowed it down to two lists, a male one: Child, Hero, King, Sage. And a female one: Child ,Virgin, Queen, Crone. These main themes saturate our culture and the links are everywhere; in the major rites of passage, the major arcana, the playing cards, the chess pieces, the family, the state, etc. After an enormous amount of research, way beyond the call of duty, I began to see correlations everywhere: in the days of the week, the names of the Gods, the Zodiac......
So what to do with all this new gained knowledge? How to put this all into paintings? I settled on a composition of opposites, such as the Virgin/ The Hero and The King/ Fool as can be seen below.
In any case, I proved for myself that the concept Archetype is a real one, if hidden just below the surface of consciousness, and dominates the arts such as in stories, plays, films, and religious art in particular.

For some time now I have been issuing certified art giclée prints in a limited edition. These giclées are of a beauty and quality that perfectly fits my work and does the original paintings justice in every sense. All giclées are printed on heavy museum quality etching paper and are personally signed and numbered by me. They are published in a limited edition of 150.
I publish and sell these together with Threshold Editions. We have just renewed the website and now have a fully functioning web shop!!
Opening offer until June 1st
To celebrate this fact we now have an amazing opening offer! If you order any giclée from me before the first of June 2007 you will receive 50% discount on the retail price!
You can order by going to the website or sending an email to info@threshold-editions.com

New exhibitions are planned for November 2007 in Rotterdam (NL) at the Smelik and Stokking Gallery. Next to that I am working on getting exhibitions in Italy and in the United States. As soon as things are definite, I'll let you know.
